Skiing

Whilst famous for the regular powder snow, Alta has terrain suited to every level of skier with around 15% of its 2,614 acres aimed at beginners.

The top of Sugarloaf gives spectacular views in all directions, and accesses a range of intermediate and advanced ski runs.

There are a variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier ability, from Beginner to Expert.

Snowboarding

No snowboarding is permitted at Alta. Neighbouring Snowbird, a mile down the road, does allow boarding.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Alta is Salt Lake City, 62 minutes drive away.

Jackson Hole and Idaho Falls airports are all within three hours drive.

Salt Lake City is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

When is Alta open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

Usual opening is mid November, and usual closing is Late April.
