Travel options from Tokyo (HND)

There are 12 Ski Resorts inside 3 hours drive from Tokyo, including Akazurayama, Gala Yuzawa, Happo One, Karuizawa and Yuzawa ParK.

When arriving at Tokyo you will usually have several options for getting to your destination, although availability of some services may be restricted or seasonal.

  • Hire Car - the most flexible option, with minimal waiting times. Most competitive on price when several people will be travelling.

Ski Resort and Hotel Transfers from Tokyo

  • Taxi - let someone else drive, but keep the flexibility. May cost a little more but will usually take you directly to your ski chalet or hotel.
  • Private Transfers - usually a minibus or similar, most cost-effective with a group. Limousines, coaches or even helicopters may be available depending on the season and your budget.
  • Shared Transfers - similar to a private transfer, but the operator may combine several groups of passengers so you may have a short wait at Tokyo for another flight to arrive.
  • Shuttle Transfers - depending on the season, the airport may run shuttle buses at regular intervals. These may go directly to your destination ski resort, or to nearby hotels.
  • Bus Transfers - scheduled public transport bus services may be available. Very cost-effective but no flexibility.
