Craigieburn

Craigieburn Valley Ski Area, located in the heart of New Zealand's Southern Alps, has achieved cult status amongst NZ's hottest skiers. Steep deep and cheap it features wide open powder bowls, steep narrow chutes and when you come off the hill at the end of a big day you can kick back in the bar at our cosy alpine lodge. Craigieburn is situated 1.5 hrs (110km) from Christchurch on highway 73. The 6 kilometre road up to the Skifield winds gently up through picturesque beech forest and is accessible for all motor vehicles (except camper vans which can be parked at the base of the access road). The centre offers a common lift pass with nearby Broken River which can be accessed on skis (10 minute walk required). The area provides exciting skiing and 'boarding and is not recommended for beginner skiers, beginner/intermediate snowboarders. Club members get preferential rates.
