Major New lifts coming to Bad Gastein For 2018

Published : 16-Mar-2017 02:41

Bad Gastein in Austria's Salzburgerland region should see two impressive new lifts – a gondola with 10 person cabins and a new eight seater chairlift - opening next year.

The new Schlossalmbahn gondola will be more than two miles long and replace the resort's old key Sendleitenbahn funicular which ascends from 1558m to 2019m.

The new gondola will be 3422m long and have an hourly uplift capacity of 3000 people, a big improvement on the 120 per ascent max capacity of the funicular, and with shorter waiting times.

The 8 person high speed detachable chairlift with pull down bubble hood will be 1240m long and double capacity on the route currently served by a high speed quad chair to a maximum of 4,000 people per hour, making it one of the biggest people movers in the ski world today.
