Tickets for Eurostar services direct from London and South East England to the French Alps for the 2017-18 season will go on sale on Wednesday, July 19th.

Typically there's a rush to buy tickets at the best prices for peak periods such as New Year and the February school holidays on the day that tickets become available.

The lowest prices are unchanged from last season at £150 return.

The 2017/18 seasonal ski services will run weekly from 22 December 2017 until 7 April 2018, with a choice of travelling overnight on Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday (peak weeks) or during the daytime on Saturday.

Overnight services take 9 – 11 hours depending on departure and arrival points, daytime services take from 7 hours, 59 minutes.

UK departure points are London St Pancras or Ashford International, with French arrival points including the town of Moutiers for ski areas including the 3 Valleys, Aime La Plagne for La Plagne and Brides les Bains for Les Arcs, La Rosiere or onward bus travel to ski areas such as St Foy, Tignes and Val d'Isere.

Friday overnight departures (From St Pancras at 7.42pm) provide another two days on the piste, arriving on a Saturday morning to be welcomed by quieter slopes as other holidaymakers start their transfers back to the airports.

Saturday overnight trains return following a popular introduction last year, providing a third option and more capacity during peak half term and Easter school holidays.
"While other holidaymakers spend hours stuck in time consuming coach transfers to and from the airport, Eurostar travellers can relax with a hassle-free journey in spacious surroundings on board as they are whisked closer to the resorts. A generous baggage allowance leaves plenty of room for a winter wardrobe, with each passenger allowed two suitcases plus hand luggage, and skis or snowboards at no extra cost," said Eurostar's Rob Haycocks.

Eurostar fleet of 28 trains has carried more than 150 million passengers over the past 23 years and the newly refurbished e320 trains can carry around 900 passengers at speeds of up to 320kph (200mph).

Ski train sales open at 08:00 on Wednesday at Eurostar.com and at the Eurostar Contact Centre by calling 03432 186 186
