Snow Forecast Summary - February 14th 2008

Published : 14-Feb-2008 09:08

Sunny weather will again predominate over the European Alps this week as the resident High Pressure refuses to move on. Although there will be several days of chillier weather over the coming weekend, for most areas, the zero line will generally remain between 1,500 and 2,000 metres.

Clear skies will be the norm and, though no significant snow is likely within the next week, the resultant cold nights will help to cool and preserve what is still a generally good base. Mid to upper slopes will continue to give good skiing on Spring snow.

There is a small chance of limited precipitation in the forecast for late next week, but we expect that to change...

j2ski Snow Forecasts now updated more frequently

Due to popular request... the j2ski Snow Forecasts now update approximately every six hours, to ensure that the very latest forecast data is available to you. Check the next expected update time alongside the snowfall graph on each forecast page, to see when the next update is due.

Please remember that alpine forecasts more than 48 hours ahead are extremely variable and can change dramatically from one forecast to the next, particularly in the presence of complex weather systems.

So get out there and get on it... 8)
