The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead which recently had the hundreds of metres of walls surrounding is indoor snow slopes transformed from their original Austrian Tirolean landscape to a Swiss Valais mountain makeover, is to stage a special Swiss weekend from the 7th-9th October 2016, the first of several planned.

Swiss food will be served, Swiss music heard and Swiss instructors will be teaching on the Centres slopes. There'll even be a St Bernhard in attendance.

"The Switzerland Partnership Launch Weekend, taking place on and off our 160m real snow ski slope, will include plenty of Swiss-themed cultural delights to enjoy over the course of our fun-filled weekend," said The Snow Centre's Tilly Tasker.

The Snow Centre's restaurant will be serving up traditional Swiss cuisine throughout the weekend in their restaurant, The Lodge Bar and Kitchen, at lunch and dinner time, including Swiss raclette, amongst other culinary staples. There'll also be a live Swiss band and into Friday and Saturday evening there'll be a cocktail tasting session at the bar for those who fancy a tipple after their session on the slope.

On Saturday and Sunday the Snow Centre's main slope will become the home for some world-class ski and snowboard instructors, fresh out of the Swiss Alps, handing out complimentary hints and tips to Snowsports lovers looking to brush up on their technique before the ski season begins.

Lift Pass rates on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th October will start from £25 for 1 hour, and £59 for a family of four.

"With something for all ages, children can enjoy playing on our mini remote control pistenbully, and there will be a St. Bernard's dog, on hand (or on paw!) in our Schuss Bar for you to meet!" added Tilly.

Switzerland Tourism will be offering an opportunity to win a 3-night ski trip to the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Aletsch Arena, including return flights from London to Switzerland with Swiss International Airlines, 3 nights' accommodation and a 2-day lift pass to the Aletsch Arena ski area.
