Major Snow Forecast for the Alps this Weekend

Major Snow Forecast for the Alps this Weekend

Published : 03-Nov-2017 04:25

The latest of what seem to have been almost weekly snowstorms to hit the alps over the past two months is forecast to start blowing on tomorrow and for most areas be dumping the most snow on Sunday.

Already open resorts are seeing forecasts ranging from 30-70cm of snow for the next 72 hours, whilst in the longer term, some resorts say they expect the snow to keep falling through the first half of next week too.
Strong winds are also forecast however and this has led some forecasters to warn that the hoped for snow may not be quite so abundant.

Davos and Laax (Pictured above earlier today) are due to open for their 2017-18 ski season tomorrow, but Laax has already said that it will be closed again on Sunday because of the anticipated strong winds bringing blizzard conditions then, they think.
