New Zealand Ski Areas may open early

Published : 26-May-2021 09:15

Encouraging early snow and high demand for accommodation are leading several New Zealand ski fields to consider opening earlier than planned.

Coronet Peak (Queenstown) is thinking about opening a week early on the 12th June.

Mount Hutt looking snowy...

Currently planned opening dates, snow permitting (which is looking good right now), are :-

- Mount Hutt - 11th June
- Cardrona - 12th June
- Coronet Peak is scheduled for the 19 June (maybe 12th!)
- The Remarkables - 26th June
- Mount Dobson - 2nd July
- Whakapapa and Turoa - 3rd July
