Together with Schruns, this is the largest settlement in the Montafon Valley, sharing the regional pass which takes in over 65 lifts and over 200km of terrain. Austria's first chair lift opened here in 1947.


The Austrian ski resort of Tschagguns is in the Austrian Alps at an altitude of 700m, with 21km of marked runs.

Tschagguns has direct access to 21km of downhill skiing, with 8 marked pistes, served by a total of 9 ski lifts.

With ski lifts as high as 2,080m, snow cover is generally reliable.


Tschagguns offers good sking, particularly, for Intermediate and Beginner skiers.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Tschagguns is St. Gallen-Altenrhein, 48 minutes drive away.

Friedrichshafen, Memmingen, Innsbruck Airport, Zurich, Munich, Basel, Stuttgart, Lugano and Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg airports are all within three hours drive.

St. Gallen-Altenrhein is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.


Ski Lift Capacity

The nine ski lifts are able to uplift 12,000 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow Making

Snow-making is available, on 13km of ski runs, with 26 snow cannons.

Season Dates

When is Tschagguns open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

Usual opening is early December, and usual closing is Mid April.

We don't yet have specific details of the COVID-19 precautions being taken in Tschagguns, but they are likely to include most of the following :-
