Arêches and Beaufort are picturesque and traditional Savoyard villages below the Beaufortain Massif, the lifts ascend from above Arêches to slopes beneath the Grand Combe. There is additional, part-linked skiing from Le Planay ( 1200m ) .


The French ski resort of Arêches-Beaufort is in the French Alps at an altitude of 2,300m, with 50km of marked runs.

Arêches-Beaufort has direct access to 50km of downhill skiing, with 30 marked pistes, served by a total of 15 ski lifts.

The ski resort itself is at 2,300m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 2,300m, snow cover is generally reliable.


Arêches-Beaufort offers good sking, particularly, for Intermediate skiers.

 Notable Ski Runs

The longest possible descent in Arêches-Beaufort is 5km long and the most difficult run is the 'Super Noire ( No. 21 )'.


Snowboarding is allowed on all runs and the first 'natural' snowpark in France was established here. It includes snowboardcross, hip and slopestyle. Open to both boarders and skiers.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Arêches-Beaufort is Chambery, 60 minutes drive away.

Annecy, Geneva, Grenoble, Lyon St-Exupéry, Lyon Bron, Sion, Saint-Étienne and Turin Caselle airports are all within three hours drive.

Chambery is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.
