A group of small mountain hamlets. There's a small local ski area with skiing mostly quite easy and limited night-life. 15km from Chamonix by car bus but now reached by skiers with a gondola lift that takes you directly from the village up to the Balme area, linked to Chamonix on the other side. There's a long blue back down to the resort.


The French ski resort of Vallorcine is in the French Alps at an altitude of 1,260m.

Vallorcine has direct access to 4 marked pistes, served by a total of 3 ski lifts.

The skiing is at relatively low altitude, so snow cover can be variable.


Vallorcine offers good sking, particularly, for Intermediate skiers.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Vallorcine is Sion, 47 minutes drive away.

Annecy, Geneva, Chambery, Berne, Turin Caselle, Lyon St-Exupéry, Grenoble, Lyon Bron and Basel airports are all within three hours drive.

Sion is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.


Ski Lift Capacity

The three ski lifts are able to uplift 3,200 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow Making

Snow-making is available, on 5km of ski runs, with 10 snow cannons.
