With more reliable snow than most other German resorts, and cheap lift tickets, Balderschwang can get crowded at weekends. Skiing is on three tree covered mountain faces.


The German ski resort of Balderschwang is in the German Alps at an altitude of 1,020m, with 30km of marked runs.

Balderschwang has direct access to 30km of downhill skiing, with 28 marked pistes, served by a total of 11 ski lifts.

The skiing is at relatively low altitude, so snow cover can be variable.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Balderschwang is St. Gallen-Altenrhein, 53 minutes drive away.

Friedrichshafen, Memmingen, Zurich, Innsbruck Airport, Basel, Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, Lugano, Stuttgart and Munich airports are all within three hours drive.

St. Gallen-Altenrhein is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.
